Fund event planning: President Lenore Romney said the club noon meeting Monday, Sept. 17, at Nectar’s in Kendall Yards, will focus on the fall fund raising campaign to help needy kids, especially at Holmes Elementary School.   The spring fund-raiser event had been delayed to ensure a better successful campaign now.      The annual fund-raiser, which has provided as much as $20,000 for school needs. Romney asks “that all members bring ideas for activities we can do during our event to raise funds.”
‘Rotary Connect’ continues strong
About 20 club members, spouses and friends gathered at Nectar’s for the second “Connect”-tion on Sept. 10.
Most impressive was the visitors’ distance joining the gathering.
One visitor was Anita Mallory, from the Corpus Christi Downtown club in Texas.  She was driving from her part-time home in Portland through Spokane to a Porsche Club event in Banff, Canada.
Beth Kreitl and Kevin Espirito, from Indianapolis, were visiting friends and family in Washington State.  Both are Rotarians in the Indy Progressive Rotary Club, which meets twice a month after work.  Beth is the club’s president-elect.
Rotary-North banners were exchanged with the visiting Rotarians.
Rotary Connect is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on each second Monday of the month at various venues.
